Well, Thursday is a training night.
I did contact, made the first team playing in the NRU A Championship game Saturday. More than likely, I will be a sub. It's all good. In any case, after training on Thursday, did three rounds of this:
20 KB two handed swings (20 kilo bell used)
10 kb snatches each side
10 ab roll outs.
It was basically dark by the time I finished this at 8pm. Drag. I did get my roller back, too! #winning!
Friday was recovery and stretching. I'm getting ready for tomorrow and next week - lots of Mov Nat training in the forseeable future. Should be good.
Oh, and saw this:
On another note, I'm putting together a list of goals for the year, as I do every year. I did a fair number of the things from last year (Hey, I'm a parent, my year starts in September, ends in August) and all in all, thought my training went well this year. I'm thinking that I need some wrestling in my life ... and lo and behold, fate drops a Tapout gym within 5 kilometres of my house. Hell, it's beside my rugby club, man. It's cheaper and better equipped than a lot of the other gyms I said no to in the past.
I'm not sure I want to be an MMA fighter, but I'm pretty sure I could handle being in as good condition as one ...
Other goals for the year, in no particular order are: to keep up my road racing the the fall and winter. My wife wants to do the family run at Hallowe'en. That should be good. Next is: I'd like to get on with getting some sailing under my belt. It just seems as though that is the way I've wanted to move towards for a few years. Now I want to make it happen. I'd also like to get better at using my Mac technology both at work and around my house. I don't mean get Apple Certified or anything like that, but just need to be able to use the stuff I already have better. There are rumblings about me taking course work to move up at work; there are also worries about debt and taking on more work to pay it down. I'm thinking I take my technical abilities, my writing talent and put them to work ... somewhere.
About the training; I'd like to be on weight by the end of March Break for the Nationals. This year is in St Catherines. Barring any major injury or major personal financial meltdown, should be good to go. I'd also like to re-certify as a wrestling coach this winter. Should be an easy fix, just need to make sure there are no children being born into my family that weekend, like last year.... ;) I'd also like to get better with my own training gear, especially the Kbs. That's just using them and being around people who know what they are doing.
Anything else? Nanowrimo, maybe. It is a shameful festering sore that I have only won once. Meh, w/e.

Aug 20, 21 22 23 and 24
Aug 20th was a rugby day. I was gurting at the end of the day. I was so friggin happy to hit my pool in the backyard. My ear was puffy from being headbutted all day. Sore, sore sore.
Aug 21 was a recovery day. An unreal recovery day. I felt like living death.
Aug 22 was Monday. Lots of kids stuff, spent 30 minutes stretching in the morning. Then a day with my kids. Ear was getting blue
Aug 23 was Tuesday. Rugby in the evening, stretching in the morning. I did no contact rugby tonight, instead did a lot of bodyweight training:
Seven rounds of:
10 BW squats
10 push ups
Then did some throwing, as I hook as well.
then five rounds of:
10 Picnic table military press from the knees
5 two foot take off jumps to the table top
10 feet up push ups
as a finisher did three rounds of:
10 two handed KB swings (30 KB used)
10 one handed pull swings each side
10 ab roll outs
Like I said, a lot of training, just no contact. My ear was just turning green, man.
S'all good.

Aug 17, 18 and 19th
Wednesday was the day that I used to clean out my garage/gym. Someone else called it a fire drill, so I did, too. Got a lot of stuff out of there, and put to the curb for the bulk pick Thursday. That was a lot of work, man. A good workout and I felt good afterwards.
Kinda gross, too. Lots of stuff I just didn't want to see.
Thursday I needed some stretching which I got done early in the morning, on the way to pick up coffee. After I helped get the youngest in bed, I went to rugby. I've never been more grateful that it was a light session. I did do some shoulder stretching stuff after, as they were both bugging me. Just wear and tear on the body, man.
Friday was another day of recovery. Stretching and getting money into my account. Insurance and other coin got into my mailbox, then into my bank account. Made me feel so much better. Saturday is a rugby day.

Aug 11-16
Well, I didn't get my Macbook back until Monday. Thursday was a training night for rugby. After I did a sprinting then bodyweight rounds.
Friday I did yoga/training session at the local park.
Saturday was a rugby day, at 30 degrees with the humidex. What a show. We won, but it was a tough slog.
Sunday was recovery. Lots of fluids and Advil.
Monday I was still hurting, so I did a light session and some stretching in the morning. I also moved furniture and cleaned the house.
Tuesday was a lot of moving around the house, including a couch by myself. I pulled my left leg muscles while moving stuff around. At rugby training, managed to finish a fitness test in 7;15, which was an improvement over my last effort.
But then I felt my left leg just a little too much and got off and iced it. Went home, and had my karma mess with me since then. I am planning on going back to daily posts, but not just yet.
I have also thought about investing in a membership with TapouT, which is opening a new place near my house.
Awesome.

Aug 2- 10
Well, I have to do this post on the iPad, as the Macbook has been in for repairs for the last while. Seriously, it's like i've lost my right arm.
No photos uploaded, no music on my iPhone ... And no way to solve these issues.
Workouts continue, though. Saturday I took my family up too the cottage, and got a few workouts in; lifting logs, swimming and an actual kettle bell workout. Lots of rugby, too.
My diet got back to normal today after about a week of being basically American. It was terrible and I feel as though I should detox or something
In any case just keeping you in the loop.

July 31 and Aug 1
Again, the diet is out the window ... lots of alcohol and pizza being consumed. I am working out, too
Sunday morning was an early morning workout at the beach, for four rounds did this:
30 BW squats,
30 two handed swings
20 KB snatches
It was a quick workout, man. Got it in and got out. Too many bugs.
Did this Monday for five rounds:
Indian club warm up and cool down
20 BW squats
20 two handed swings
20 KB snatches
20 feet up push ups
That was a good workout, as it was getting warmer and I wanted ot just get some work done. I did take pics, as I wanted otmake sure that people believe me. Or that I could make sure that I keep myself going....
