April 9-29

Sadly, I'm training as much as I can htese days, just not posting it here.

Sadly, I've lost the use of my garage, as it is storing a number of items before I move at the end of May. I'm waiting for the sun to come out and play so that I can train outside.

Hasn't happened yet.

I'm playing a lot of rugby, though. At least four times a week - three for Burlington and once a week for the Toronto City Saints.

Yeah, pitiful. I'll do better tomorrow.

Monday April 8

My walk today totally looked like this
Ok, back at it ... but then again, I got a ton of bricks poured on my head.

To put it short, my deal for a house fell apart. So, after work today, had to go look at houses. Saw four.

At lunch, as I knew I had a meeting to get tonight (I ended up on a conference call for 2 hours) I would have no time to train in the evenings. So, at lunch, did a 25 minute walk.

Nice sunshine and I got to see the neighbourhood I work in as I've never seen before.

Ate this:

Breakfast: Smoothie (Frozen berries, milk and yoghurt), handful of almonds and then coffee to drink

Snack Almonds and water

Lunch: tuna, carrots in hummus and water to drink. Almonds for dessert.

Dinner: left over steak with some salad in a wrap. Oh, my was that good.

All in all not a bad day. I do have to make a comment that my knee was pretty sore for the day. Going to stretch and then bed. It's getting late, so man, I'm off.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday April 7

Would love to write that Friday was a recovery day - but I spent most if it at the local hospital with my youngest. He's on death's door while at home, but of course as soon as the doctors are near, he cheers right up and loses the fever.

Brutal.

He slept on the way home, then woke up. Stayed up until 3am. Friday. Saturday and Sunday.

Needless to say I'm so sleep deprived right now, I'm seeing zombies everywhere.

I did take my son out for walks on Sunday. Trying to get his nose cleared up so he could breathe. Nice long walks. Nothing else. Kind of a shame, really

April 3 and 4

Well, all I can say, is that I am grateful rugby has started.

Wednesday I put an offer in on a house and it was accepted on Thursday. I move at the end of May. Should be really cool. Watch for pics of me training beside this pool:

Wednesday I was a ball of stress and my family was, too. Training would not have helped at all, so it didn't get done. I did see the light at the end of the tunnel, though. I'm also going to be doing a project with my students about getting back into the swing of training. It will lead up to the Tough Mudder I will be running at the end of the course I am currently teaching.

Watch for a link or for posts here.

On Thursday, I was on artificial turf, going into contact. Was an awesome feeling. Felt good afterwards, too. No real DOMS experience. Running around for almost two hours, passing and the like. Cool.

April 1 and 2

Monday was a bit better. I got this done with my son in my garage gym:

20 feet up push ups.
10 BW squats
15 hanging knee tucks

I can honsetly say, I don't recall how many rounds of this I got done before I had to go in a be a dad.

Ate this for Monday:

Breakfast: egg wrap with spicy goo. (mmmm gooo ... )

Lunch: ham sandwiches ... left overs from yesterday. I promise it's almost gone

Dinner: pasta ... and chocolate. Water to drink.

Tuesday:

Breakfast - smoothie - milk, frozen berries and some yoghurt. Coffee at work.

Lunch: tuna, carrots with hummus and almonds. Water to drink.

Dinner: pizza. Water. Meh - no day is perfect.

Saturday and Sunday March 31

Boy meets Bunny

Saturday ... ate this:

Breakfast Eggs and steak wraps, coffee to drink. Water later.

Lunch: ham sandwich (multigrain bread) and water to drink.

Dinner was chicken brest over rice with a salad. Water, water water.

I can honestly say I chased my son around the house and the neighbourhood for most of the day.  Fun, exhausting but not very "cardio". Need to get working on that. We did meet the Easter Bunny at my rugby club's annual Egg Hunt. Lots of time outdoors in the decent weather.

Sunday was a holiday at my parent's place.

Breakfast was chocolate and coffee with some hard boiled egg thrown in too.

Lunch: veggies and ranch dressing with water to drink.

Dinner: more ham and vegetables with more chocolate for dessert. Coffee.

No time, no time to myself. Although I did take my son for a long walk today. Well, I walked and he rode in his really cool car.
