Sunday Monday and Tuesday Feb 26

Sunday was a wash. Well, actually a paint would be more accurate. I painted my living room and main hallways with the stairs and upper hallway thrown in for good measure.

Monday - I painted the kitchen. And small bathroom.

At least Monday I needed kettlebells so much I took a break and got this done for three rounds before getting back to painting:

30 KB two handed swings
20 feet up push ups

Nothing major, just nice to get done.

Later Monday, had a weird dream that made me literally jump out off of the couch I fell asleep on. Freaky. Even tasted bile. Weird.

Tuesday, got this done before going to work:

30 kb two handed swings
10 KB cleans (50 lb bell used)
20 feet up push ups
20 seated knee tucks

Yeah, nothing major. I'm sore. A lot sore lately, thanks to all the painting and moving furniture/crap. At least my body can handle all the work that is being thrown at it. Makes life easier when you are not collapsing all the time.

Friday and Saturday Feb 23

Friday was a make up day. Ihad to make up for missing rugby. This was done for four rounds.

20 kb swings
10 kb cleans
10 kb rows 50 lb bell used throughout
20 feet up push ups
20 seated knee tucks
10 bench flies- 40 then 50 lb dbs used
10 standing bar curls

S'all good

Saturday was a wash again - I did get a fair workout chasing my son around at rugby. At least I was sweaty by the end of his 45 min run around. He slept well and I got to watch UFC.

Every time I see that stuff, I want to get back to it. Meh, it'll come if it comes.

Tuesday Wed and Thursday Feb 21

Tuesday was a wash. I called in sick and just lay on my bed for most of the day.

Massage might have been nice, but no. Workout below.

Wednesday was better with a workout for four rounds:

20 Kb swings 50 bell used
10 kb cleans
10 kb rows
8-10 barbell curls. Just 'cuz.
20 feet up push ups
20 seated knee tucks
10 bench flies -40 lb db's used


Thursday was to have been a rugby day - but my kid was in the ER waiting room during rugby time.

Meh. Kid is ok - everyone is just pissed off. So it goes.

Sunday and Monday Feb 18

Well, things ... things are just stiff all over. Sunday I moved furniture around my house and got ready for painting.

I was sweating the entire day - I just kept actively moving from one thing to the next.

At least I got a piece of beef cooked for my family's dinner instead of getting something awful for dinner.

Monday ... I painted two rooms and then had to get to a family birthday party. Again, nothing "hard" looking, but just taxing all the same.

I feel like death at the moment.

Friday and Saturday Feb 16

This ... this is stupid busy time for me. I'm training, though. And active.

Friday, I got this done for four rounds before getting myself to work:

20 kb swings (50 lb bell used)
10 Kb cleans
6-8 kb snatches
20 feet up push ups
20 seated knee tucks

Still a little stiff all over from doing a lot of stuff these days.

Later in the evening, packed my van full of stuff to take away

Saturday, I drove to my father inlaw's house and unpacked it all. Storage, waaaay in the back storage.

It was a cool day, but I just had to keep active.

Wed and Thursday Feb 14



Yeah, so ... Wednesday I had to get things ready for garbage pick up day. I had to move a large snowbank out of the way so I could put a number of large things on the curb to be picked up by the City. It took me almost an hour of steady mind numbing work to move the snow.

I hurt something deep in my man parts, too. I'm thinking all that lifting pulled on an internal hernia or something. I took it easy for the rest of the day.

Thursday was a rugby day. I go a few books into the van for disposal and played rugby in the evenings. I got rid of a bunch of sand bags at the same time, too.

Monday and Tuesday Feb 12



The picture pretty much sums it all up. It started early and just kept going.

Ugh ... I got a late night run in, as every other time during the day was taken.

Tuesday, almost the same thing, but with more lifting. I got this done four rounds before being ushered off of the property:

20 kb two handed swings 50 lb bell used throughout
10 Kb cleans
5 kb snatches 40 lb bell used .... w/e
20 feet up push ups
8-10 deadlifts - 8 x 100, 8 x 150 .....
10 kb rows
20 seated knee tucks
10 bench flies - 40 lbs db used

I got that done and then had too much of a good breakfast. Eggs and meat balls with tomato and red pepper. I mean it was good, but I shouldn't have had that much. Meh ... tomorrow will be better.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday Feb 10

This would have been helpful. Instead I did it myself.


Snow came on Friday. I got a snow day - which would be great, except that I was stuck inside with a wife and three kids who didn't know what to do with themselves.

I did actually take my kids out for a toboggan run on Friday, but the wind was killer. It was still snowing, and I shovelled the drive way. Twice. I also did my neighbours and their sidewalks.

Seriously, it was heavy 30 cm of snow for about an hour. of lifting, driving and pushing.

I got that done twice on Friday.

Saturday the roads were clear enough for me to take a load of furniture and books to my father in law's house. I lifted box after box into my van from my basement. I was a sweaty mess by the end of that. I drove for about 40 minutes and then ... got to unload all by myself again. I got home to a big puddle in front of my house, so I shoveled out the nearest sewer access.

Sunday, after Church ... I got to re-load the van and do the exact same thing. With some more shoveling again. Throughout this ordeal, I ate as best as I could.

Thursday Feb 7

Today was a two a day - I got stuck and I'm catching up with my posts.

In any case, I got this done four rounds before having to get off to work. Diet is improving, and we'll have a family meeting about this this weekend.

First workout:

20 two handed kb swings (50 lb bell used throughout)
10 kb cleans (each side)
10 squat stand ball throws
20 feet up push ups
10 bench flies
20 seated knee tucks

After that, went off to work and got stuff done. Then, got home, got to be a dad and then went off to an hour of rugby.

Lots of sprints, some contact. Would have liked to have gone to a League training session, but snow was coming, so I stayed home.

Tuesday and Wednesday Feb 6

Tuesday was a regular Tuesday. I got up, got my kids to where they needed to be and then got home.

I got this done four rounds before having to go and be all grown up and stuff:

20 KB swings (20 lb bell used)
20 Kb cleans
20 feet up push ups
10 deadlifts - finished with something light, like 120 lbs.
20 seated knee tucks
10 db flies - 40 lbs used

It was an awesome breakfast, too - pork loin and egg wraps with tomato and a smidge of ketchup. Oh, man. Lunch was tuna and vegetables with lots of water. Honestly, I'm drinking a lot of water as of late; must be the dry cold weather.

Wednesday was ... weird. First off, my boy went weird Wednesday night. Got up at 2:30 am and just woudn't go back to sleep. I got up, changed him and gave him a bottle - but he just cried and cried. Eventually, going back to being calm. Not sleeping, calm. I couldn't sleep either. So, about 5am, I got out of bed and did a workout. I thought I could go and do my "Squishy" training session in my garage with my wife's car. I forgot that a lot more stuff is in there now, so I went to the nicely finished basement and did this:

20 BW squats
20 feet up push ups
20 seated knee tucks
20 jumping jacks

Nice old school training. I had to get to work early to please the boss. Which I did. Eating was good today, too.

Sunday Feb 3, Monday Feb 4

Sunday was a recovery and rest day. Or at least that was written down.

Instead my youngest decided that it was "Stress my parents Out" Day. On those days I just know it is best to get a workout in and duck.

Why work out? Because it's better than not working out. Besides, it's Superbowl Day and I wanted to train that day, too.

Got this done for three rounds:
20 Kb two handed swings
10 squat with the ball with wall throws.
20 feet up push ups

Not much of a workout, but I just wanted something quick, as I know it was going to be cut short if I tried anything too exciting. Watching the Superbowl at a local pub was a drag. I hate drunk people and the people behind the bar were a drag, too.

Monday I woke up and felt like death. I got my work done and got home to clean and declutter. I did fin a few books and training ideas in my library. I'm going to be taking my training books to work in order to save them from being pitched.

Friday Feb 1 and Sat Feb 2

Well, Friday. Friday I was a father. My usual training time was used to pick up my boy and try to get him to a doctor appointment, only to discover that it had been cancelled by the good doctor.

Who knew that doctors could call in sick?

Anyway, I got myself home and got people to where they needed to be. I was a dad. Later on that same day, though, I filled the van with lots and lots of furniture to be stored at my father in law's house. Saturday is not a rugby day for the time being.

Saturday, these days anyway, are moving days.

Well, more accurately, de-cluttering days. I moved a lot of crap out of my house. Had to. It's all just crap.

After I did that, I came home and took my kids out to the garage for a workout. Well, I worked out, they had fun. Good tunes, and a good sweat. I did this for three rounds:

10 squat and wall throws (14 lb ball used)
20 Kb swings (45 lb bell used)
10 bench flies (40 lb dbs used)
10 changing cleans and press (60 lbs)
20 seated knee tucks
20 feet up push ups. I tried to get a pick of my son "Helping" me do these, but the iPhone wasn't cooperating.

Wed and Thursday Jan 31

Wednesday ... I was sore. Really sore. I stretched and took it easy.

Thursday was rugby. Lots of positional play worked on - I can see the errors while watching. I did play a fair amount, but not enough to justify the apres rugby. Meh, whatevs.

I did notice that I am working on a lot of stuff while there, though. I had conversations about my training, Super15 rugby and learning about both on Youtube. I also picked up a lot of information about the 2013 rugby season, too.
